You may not always keep your wheel bearings in mind when driving, but if they are not properly lubricated, they will definitely let people know their presence, making a huge hum or growl whenever you accelerate or turn. To avoid this, you should fill the wheel bearings with a large amount of grease every 10,000 miles to keep them in good condition. Choosing the best grease can be a bit challenging, especially if you don't know exactly what to look for. That's where we come in.

A synthetic grease that extends the life of the equipment and has excellent water resistance.

This is an automotive wheel bearing and chassis lubricant with a complex lithium soap base.

A lithium complex grease that works well under high temperature conditions, such as wheel bearings or disc brakes.

Our reviews are driven by hands-on testing by actual buyers, expert opinions, "popular wisdom" evaluations, and our own expertise. We always strive to provide true and accurate guides to help you find the best choice.

Ion-based greases may come in the form of lithium, white lithium, and calcium. Calcium-based grease has high water resistance, but moderate heat resistance. Lithium-based greases are generally water-resistant and have high resistance to extreme temperatures. Finally, white lithium-based grease is a multi-purpose grease that is corrosion-resistant and waterproof.

Moly EP grease is formulated with molybdenum disulfide, which is a compound with high corrosion resistance and high melting point. Moly EP grease can withstand extreme pressure, as the name suggests is EP. It is suitable for any objects with sliding motion, including ball joints and U-shaped joints.

Disc and drum greases are waterproof and can be used for disc and drum brakes. It can withstand the extremely high temperatures generated by the wheels at high speeds and the pressure of the brakes. It is a wheel bearing lubricant recommended for RV. It can also be used as a lubricant for general-purpose equipment.

Marine wheel grease is resistant to water and salt, making it an ideal choice for marine equipment. It is recommended for heavy-duty metal or agricultural equipment to promote sliding. It can also be used for boats and PWC trailers, motorcycle chains, swivel hinges, steering cables, anchor chains and winches.

Royal Purple is a North American motor oil company that produces high-end products that meet most of the needs of the automotive industry. Its outstanding performance has made Royal Purple greases, lubricants and oils the products of choice for many car manufacturers and car owners. Royal Purple The best grease for ball bearings is Royal Purple Ultra High Performance Grease.

Since its establishment in 1866, Sheng Brand has won a good reputation in the DIY market, manufacturing some of the best car care products for passenger cars. It specializes in the production of engine oils, transmission fluids, antifreezes, greases and lubricants.

Sta-Lube's history can be traced back to 1933, when it produced vehicle additives and lubricants. Its products are tailored to meet the needs of consumers and are designed for DIY users and professional technicians. In addition, the prices of its products are budget-friendly. Sta-Lube heavy-duty bearing grease is one of its high-quality disc brake bearing greases.

Lucas Oil is a manufacturer and distributor of lubricants, motor oils and automotive additives. The company is headquartered in Corona, California. Due to the longevity and high performance of its car care products, Lucas has a huge fan base. Lucas X-Tra heavy duty grease is one of its best high temperature greases.

The best grease can form a waterproof and moisture-proof protective layer. This helps prevent metal rust and corrosion, making it last longer. If your vehicle is frequently exposed to salt water, you must use waterproof grease.

Viscosity is the rate of internal friction within a fluid that enables it to resist flow. The rated viscosity of different types of grease ranges from 0 to 6. The ideal viscosity of wheel bearing grease is 2, which feels a lot like soft peanut butter.

Instead of buying a variety of greases for different equipment, it is better to stick to this royal purple multi-purpose grease, which can meet almost all your lubrication needs. You can use it to lubricate wheel bearings on vehicles, U-shaped joints on equipment, and even some household appliances. The grease uses synthetic base material and aluminum thickener, has excellent corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance, so that your equipment runs smoothly and has a longer service life.

In addition, this grease is water-resistant and resistant to lotions or washing. Most importantly, it can withstand extreme pressure conditions up to 6,000 psi, while cooling moving parts even if the temperature rises.

Super Tech Multi-Duty Complex Grease easily won our Best Value Award with its affordable price and features comparable to some high-quality greases. This grease comes in a 14-ounce tube and is formulated with a complex lithium soap base, so it remains stable even when exposed to various temperatures. It also has advanced rust and corrosion inhibitors, so you can protect your bearings from premature wear. It contains a variety of polymers and chemical additives that can provide oxidation resistance and make the grease stable even under extreme pressure conditions.

However, it has been noted that this oil has a strong smell. Consider working in a well-ventilated area when applying.

This grease can provide lubrication in the low and high temperature range. It contains anti-wear, extreme pressure and lubricating additives to help protect your bearings in any environment. This grease also contains corrosion and rust inhibitors to slow down deterioration and provide excellent protection against water and moisture. It is easy to use and you can use it in various situations, including car brake work, farm applications, motorcycles, guns and bicycles. In addition, you don't need too much of this high-quality grease to do the job-a little bit is of great benefit.

However, due to its stickiness, it is difficult to remove grease if you get it on your clothes.

This grease is particularly recommended for Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles-as mentioned, "M1C75B NLGI GC-LB grease is recommended". It has the characteristics of temperature lubrication from 0 to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. The formula includes "molybdenum" (a mineral in lubricants) to enhance lubrication.

It is also a general purpose grease, so in addition to wheel bearings, you can also use it for suspension, chassis, ball joints, tie rods, steering links and universal joints. It is easy to install in the grease gun.

On the downside, due to the molybdenum in the formula, grease may be more likely to stain clothes, driveways, workbenches and other areas. In addition, the package may be damaged when it arrives.

Lucas Oil X-Tra is a 14-ounce heavy-duty wheel bearing grease at an affordable price. It is a synthetic grease used in trucks and heavy equipment. Polyurea base makes the service life four times longer than ordinary grease. It is also plastic safe and packaged in a user-friendly grease gun barrel. The product can withstand high pressures and temperatures up to 560 degrees Fahrenheit and has an NLGI 2 rating. It can be used for agricultural and construction equipment and heavy trucks.

One disadvantage is that polyurea-based greases are not compatible with lithium-based greases. Lithium-based greases are generally compatible with almost all types of greases.

If you want to spend as little time as possible on lubricating wheel bearings and lubricating hard-to-reach areas, consider using CRC White Lithium Grease. It is packed in an aerosol container and sprayed like oil, but it adheres to the surface like grease. It is formulated with advanced additives to provide enhanced oil film strength, corrosion protection and heat resistance, even under pressure, it is also very suitable for heavy metal applications (such as wheel bearings) to provide long-lasting lubrication. In addition, this grease is waterproof and can work effectively at temperatures up to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.

The main complaint we noticed is the design of the spray system. It does not provide a uniform spray, so the application can be very messy. In addition, it can also contaminate non-metallic parts.

This is an excellent wheel bearing grease suitable for high temperature conditions. It is specially manufactured for drum and disc wheel bearings. The formula contains anti-wear additives, corrosion inhibitors and waterproofing ingredients to provide excellent protection in harsh environments. It helps to extend the life of wheel bearings and provide smooth driving. Compared to other brands, it is also heavy and tacky (in a good way).

However, you may need thicker grease to fill tapered roller bearings with pre-installed inner rings. Please also note that there are no specifications on the tank, such as standard grades or melting points.

Sta-Lube is a sodium-based bearing grease designed for drum and disc brake wheel bearings and other low-speed bearings. It is also a short-fiber grease with some of the best adhesion and washing resistance. The product can withstand severe pressure conditions and has a temperature tolerance from zero to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Sta-Lube's formula includes highly refined base oils and added polymers to improve its lubricity and adhesion. The product comes in a 14-ounce can and has an NLGI grade of 2. It is recommended for cars and trucks equipped with drum brake systems, as well as cleaning and cleaning supplies.

The disadvantage of this product is its lower temperature resistance compared to standard greases.

It depends on the brand of your car. If it has a sealed pre-assembled hub unit, then you don’t need to lubricate them because the new bearings are already pre-lubricated. Sealed bearings are never lubricated, but replaced when they begin to wear. Lubricate the bearings only for vehicles with unsealed locks or hub units.

Just like any other metal part of your vehicle, the bearing will give some signs that it needs to be replaced. You may start to hear rhythmic pops that sound like cards stuck on rotating spokes. The more the bearing wears, the greater the noise.

The dropping point is the temperature at which the grease changes from a semi-solid state to a liquid state. The recommended dropping point for most greases is 500 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease with a low dropping point cannot act as a lubricant.

Depending on the quality of the bearings, they can usually be used for 85,000 to 100,000 miles. Some high-quality bearings can push up to 150,000 miles. However, you should not rely on the service life advertised by the manufacturer to determine when to replace the bearing. For safety, the condition of the bearings is checked every 30,000 miles.

Royal Purple multi-purpose synthetic grease is among the best in our review because it is a reliable synthetic grease formula that can protect your car and marine bearings from rust, corrosion and water washout. It can also withstand high temperature and extreme pressure conditions. Super Tech Multi-Duty Complex Grease has similar performance and is a more affordable solution for lubricating wheel bearings.
