Sta-Lube's formula includes highly refined base oils and added polymers to improve its lubricity and adhesion. The product comes in a 14-ounce can and has an NLGI grade of 2. It is recommended for cars and trucks equipped with drum brake systems, as well as cleaning and cleaning supplies.

The disadvantage of this product is its lower temperature resistance compared to standard greases.

It depends on the brand of your car. If it has a sealed pre-assembled hub unit, then you don’t need to lubricate them because the new bearings are already pre-lubricated. Sealed bearings are never lubricated, but replaced when they begin to wear. Lubricate the bearings only for vehicles with unsealed locks or hub units.

Just like any other metal part of your vehicle, the bearing will give some signs that it needs to be replaced. You may start to hear rhythmic pops that sound like cards stuck on rotating spokes. The more the bearing wears, the greater the noise.  

The dropping point is the temperature at which the grease changes from a semi-solid state to a liquid state. The recommended dropping point for most greases is 500 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease with a low dropping point cannot act as a lubricant.

Depending on the quality of the bearings, they can usually be used for 85,000 to 100,000 miles. Some high-quality bearings can push up to 150,000 miles. However, you should not rely on the service life advertised by the manufacturer to determine when to replace the bearing. For safety, the condition of the bearings is checked every 30,000 miles.
